First steps#
Your first launch of Fyndi is three things: logging in (or entering as a guest), a random character and a map that a short introduction walks you through. It takes about two minutes.
First launch#
- Start screen — the app loads your session and character. It takes a second or two; you do not have to tap anything.
- The login screen has two tabs, Log in and Sign up, plus a Continue as guest button below the form.
- Sign-up — enter your email address, a password (at least 8 characters) and repeat the password, then tap Create account. You log in with the same address and password as on fyndi.app.
- Character — you do not have to create anything: the server gives every new account a random character (name, look, colours) so you immediately see someone on the map. You can change the look later in the character creator.
- Map — after logging in you land on the Warsaw map: in view are your pawn, nearby routes and finds.
What the first map screen looks like#
- The green pawn in the middle of the view is your character — it moves together with you.
- Markers on the map are route starts, route stops and finds; the full description is in the Map legend.
- The card at the bottom shows whatever you tap: a route, a stop or a find.
- The bottom bar switches screens — the map and the Profile, where you can see your 3D character, statistics and trip history.
- The GPS pill on the map tells you how accurate your position is — see GPS and location accuracy.
The map introduction#
The first time you open the map, five short bubbles appear (one per screen) explaining what is what. You move through them with Next, the last one ends with a Let's go! button, and you can skip the whole thing with Skip.

The introduction appears once per device. If you skipped it and want to see it again, take a look at App settings (the “About” section describes the version and updates).
What to do in your first minutes#
- Pick a route close to you — tap a flag marker; you will see the name, length and number of stops in Walking a route.
- Tap “Navigate” — the map draws the approach route to the start and gives you the time; details: Navigation.
- Reach the start and tap “Start route” — from then on stops complete when you get close (completion methods: Route stops).
- Collect one find on the way — this needs no active route: Finds.
- Look at your Profile — the statistics count your kilometres, completed routes and collected finds (Account and profile).
